    UMASS-Boston: Occupied!

This morning, a group of UMASS-Boston students occupied their university.

Following in the footsteps of the physical occupations at Zucotti, Dewey, and other public spaces around the world, these students have asserted their presence in order to “provide a forum where students, staff, faculty, and members of the community can come to a consensus on what concrete changes would provide quality, accessible education in Boston that is available to everyone in the 99%.”

One of our Occupy Boston livestreamers is on the scene. Watch the feed live:

Occupy Boston Women’s Caucus Members on Guerilla Messaging & the Future of the Occupy Movement

Echoing Occupy Wall Street’s Verizon building action, Occupy Boston Women’s Caucus members demonstrated inspiring direct action on New Year’s Eve in Copley Square, Boston. Here is a piece by David L. (Media WG) on the night, with some great interviews:

Occupy Boston Sends Out 2011 In Occupy Style!

Yesterday, Occupy Boston sent out 2011 in style. In the early afternoon the Info Tent working group spread out around the Boston Commons and Copley area talking with people about Occupy Boston and handing out “We are the 99%” buttons.

At 8pm, many of us gathered outside at Copley to witness the Women’s Caucus of Occupy Boston amazing “art” event, which was projection of a video onto the side of a building. People chanted along with the text of the video through the first couple of showings and the video looped for two-hours. Watch the video from last night.
