Want your own handmade T-shirt proclaiming Occupy Boston or that you are part of the 99%?
Occupy Boston Screen Print Guild is looking to create it.
Occupy Boston Screen Print Guild also needs donations – please bring donations of clean blank cotton t-shirts, sweatshirts and canvas bags to this General Assembly on Thursday, December 29, 7pm – 11pm Emmanuel Church, 15 Newbury Street, Boston.
If people want to get their own shirts printed on, they should bring a cotton shirt labeled with their name and contact info – we will do our best to return all printed shirts to their rightful owners. People can also get some ink on their own hands by joining us during a print production to learn how to do some basic screen printing (times and locations of print productions still TBD)

That design is no good. It’s violent and dehumanizing. Was this approved by concensus or is it a product of the media group alone? (It’s not something that Gandhi, the spiritual quintessence of Dewey Square, would have approved of in any case.)
.
Whoever designed this and whoever wears it better ask themselves if they’re comfortable changing public perception from peaceful protest to anarchy.
Paul, let’s see your design.
That little bit of sarcasm doesn’t address my point, does it? I don’t have to come up with ANYTHING in order to criticize what I see as the wrong way to go in public perception.
My first thought was that that is a very violent image & doesn’t do the movement any favors. I disagree w/ Paul’s usage of the word “anarchy” to mean violence, but I agree with the spirit of your comment.
What we need to do about this fist T-shirt thing is go to the root of the problem, communism in Occupy Boston and the Left, and expose it for what it is. What we need is to push for a resolution condemning May Day the same way Thanksgiving was condemned by the General Assembly. We can use the same language about genocide and oppression to condemn May Day.
I agree with Paul about the impact of the image. It implies violent revolution, and may be inflammatory to certain individuals. Also, we are trying to gain the support of a wide range of people in the 99%, and this image may turn them off.
Other alternative images might be substituting a very large person for the fist upright next to the 1% figure.
The other one might be a very large person for the 99% and a dollar sign for the 1%. I am sure there may be many other ideas that would reach a larger audience. Thank you
Good ideas.
