On Thursday, 2/16/12, Occupy Boston General Assembly agreed to the below proposal, brought forward by Facilitation Working Group.
FWG Proposal for GA Discussion of Process
Occupy Boston General Assembly will set aside regular GA business on Tuesday, February 21st for a two-hour community discussion about GA decision-making process and principles. The discussion will address a range of issues that repeatedly come up in GA and in other groups grappling with OB decision-making. Parallel to efforts by other groups working to explore internal dynamics, Facilitation Working Group’s intention is to improve GA process to better reflect the concerns of diverse Occupy Boston groups and help us reach our goals with methods consistent with our values.

Tyranny of the minority is no more productive, and at times as dangerous, as tyranny of the majority. It is, for example, unclear whether the genocide in Germany and in Rwanda could have occurred without both. Further, no movement thrives when embedded obstructionism drives away its members. At times, in the 60s, the most radical proposals and entrenched ideological obstruction turned out to be from embedded provocateurs – time and a long attention span does mean that all and everything does come out and become clear over time.
In the mean time, working groups actually trying to get the word out about Occupy and its mission are left with no money to do the work.
