The following proposal passed the General Assembly of Occupy Boston on January 26, 2012:
Every Thursday after announcements we will set aside time for people to say what they are thankful for. It’s known as thankful Thursdays. FWG will work out the exact amount of time set aside and will limit it to 5 slots of 2-3 minutes each. This is completely voluntary and is subject to change based on the nature of the GA and whether anyone wants to speak on a particular night.
One Response to “GA Makes Time for Thanks”
And who are you thanking? God? The Government that allows you certain things? Maybe each other? Or the person who donated some blankets? You are just creating a ceremony and not saying who it is for. I do not believe in God, are you forcing me to be thankful for what you believe he does. OR perhaps you are thanking each other. Well, that is nice and all but you can do that in private. Maybe thank the space you are holding the meetings, but that is a private matter too. If you want to make this into a support group or to hug each other and cry, go make a group for that but Occupy should have more important things to do. The whole world is watching, so stop being a bunch of support group rejects and get back to the issues.
