The Occupy Boston Health And Safety Improvement Festival
At Noon on Monday December 5, 2011 at Dewey Square
We at Occupy Boston are committed to the health and safety of all occupiers and visitors of our encampment and as such we are hosting a party for this cause! The concerns of Mayor Menino about public health and safety are a top priority for us, and we are dedicated to fulfill the city’s criteria. In accordance with the city’s safety concerns, Occupy Boston is celebrating the arrival of a flame-retardant, winterized tent for the purpose of increasing the health, safety, and comfort of the protesters. We hope to see all concerned or supportive individuals and City Officials join us in a productive conversation to ensure the health and safety of the public. We will provide refreshments and live music!
We warmly welcome the public and extend special invitations to:
Mayor Thomas Menino
The Boston Police Department
The Boston Fire Department
The Health Department
The Rose Kennedy Greenway Conservancy
And as Always, the Boston Media!
We hope to see you all partying for health and safety!

Congratulations on your new tent that will help to keep all of you patriots safe and warm during the coming winter. Your spirit is admirable and moving. I pray that more people will be able to wake up and see what is happening to this once great country. I am appalled at the treatment from the police across the country towards the occupy movement. When history views this snapshot in time the courage you display in the face of cruel and abusive treatment will bring shame to what was at one time a proud profession . The past few months have been quite an eye opener for many Americans who are beginning to realize that the freedoms they believed they had no longer exist. God bless you all and a Merry Christmas……
I share some of your sentiments. I’ve long admired Occupy Boston for their groundbreaking work in the area of shared space and communal living, however I must say that I have harbored slight ill-will since Saturday when they neglected to mention Occupy Harvard’s rally, while mentioning every other collegiate Occupy rally. Why is it that we should be the step children of the movement? Certainly our work is, at the very worst, on part with any other Occupation. Perhaps instead of prodding each other behind the scenes we can work toward a more mutually beneficial relationship. Here’s to hoping that you, we, can put our differences behind us and work toward our common goal.
‘long admired’
.
Don’t dress up statements that don’t need dressing college guy.
.
cruel and abusive treatment
.
examples? Say riot police- go for it.
.
‘God bless you all and a Merry Christmas’
what about those that don’t celebrate with the Christian faith- way to leave a bunch of folks out- Harvard guy.
Probably because a bunch of rich kids at a protest where you have to show Harvard ID seems, I dunno, slightly tone deaf.
Awesome!!! What a great idea, this should be done all over the world!
Can I just say that I love this movement? Thanks.
So what you want is more people and media there when you attempt to violate the TRO? Normal camping gear is what’s authorized, a stainless steel kitchen sink isn’t something I’d bring camping.
Prepare for your comment to be removed Scott11b, Occupy Boston frowns on dissent.
In the future, instead of donating to Occupy Boston, should I just make a check out directly to the BPD?
>implying you’ve donated to Occupy Boston…
anonymoose is lejun
I figured the cops would totally take the tent so I have to take this back!
9 more days and counting, i might just have to camp out in the office to watch you loozas get arrested.
I think it’s funny that a movement attempting to give a voice to the 99% moderates it’s own message board.
Occupy Harvard doesn’t.
THANK YOU
good god this is now like comedy theater.
Occupy Harvard is a farce. A characterture of the entire movement.
BTW- “festival” is a poor word choice.
Incorrect actually.

We stand in full support of Occupy Boston. While OB may be shut down for the winter, we plan to continue our occupation until our demands are met. This could be years. We are making our mark on history, and we hope that Occupy Boston does the same.
“We are making our mark on history, and we hope that Occupy Boston does the same.”
You are delusional. You guys are a joke and the real 99.9999999% actually see that.
If we are such a joke, explain the extremely serious use of riot police used nationwide to try to stop us.
Steph, it is clear he is referring to Occupy Harvard exclusively. Please refrain from obfuscating an otherwise clear point…
.
MrTightJean, we are indeed the 99%. We are enlightened to more goings on than most and we would like to relay what we have been taught to a broader audience. We view Occupy Boston as the heart of our regional movement, and ourselves as, more or less, the brains.
.
We would like to take a working trip to western Mass this weekend to provide the less connected folks out there with our current thoughts on Wall St, Politics, the Economy, and Occupation as a means to an end.
Steph I believe the use of riot police is due to the fact that the movements have broken laws and refused police orders. I’m sure no riot police would be needed if when the mayor of a city or chief of police asked you to leave you complied.
It has been an appropriate amount of force used against the occupiers

This.is.gold.
Incorrect how?
‘want a university for the 99%’
‘disparity in workers wages AT harvard’
its not about the 99% at OH, its about Harvard.
game.set.match.
So Harvard workers don’t deserve good pay and benefits because they work at Harvard and Harvard issues annoy you for some reason? Occupy Harvard has done a lot to help the 99% who work there.
Leave occupy Harvard alone. They are excellent. How dare you try to suggest they are somehow second class? I don’t know why they weren’t mentioned somewhere, but that doesn’t mean occupy Boston doesn’t stand in solidarity with them.
Steph, thank you for your support. We feel we are best off without your vocal support in this forum however. It is rather crass. Please understand this is in no way directed at the root idea you are presenting, but rather the manner in which you do so. Who are you replying to with this message anyway? Thanks again for your support, and your limited role in this forum going forward.
Ha! I think Harvard guy said shut your face steph! Are you going to take that?
I strongly doubt this person actually represents occupy Harvard. Learn to recognize trolls people.
So anyone who has something negative to say or speaks out against the occupy movement or one of it’s followers is a troll? Face it, you got put in your place and you have nothing to say about it. Now run along off to bed, but make sure you wash up first. If you hurry you may get a sink in South Station before your homeless co-inhabitors wash their underwear.
this is INDUBITABLY some top tier ivy league trolling
Steph. Grow up quickly so you can sit at the big kids table ok?
Wouldn’t be a lot easier if you just bought a little lot out in Bedford or Burlington and built a little house?
I’m waiting for the ‘Harvard’ jokster to say, “Up with this I shall no longer put!” Punch up the Brahmin affect a little more, and it’ll be even funnier.
Anyway, it’s good to see that everybody kept their heads today during the tent stand-off.
