Tonight’s General Assembly will be held at 7 pm underground next to the Red Line T entrance in South Station. Please take the stairs down through the glass entrance right in front of Dewey Square.
This General Assembly will be very important as there will be at least three proposals:
- a proposal on winterization,
- a proposal on safety at camp, and
- a facilitation Proposal.
Please dress warmly, stay safe, and attend if you can. Your voice is important!

It would be nice to include directions for people who can’t go down the stairs.
No rush – but I did not see livestream and don’t know where the 2nd link for other livestream was. A link would have gotten used, so this is “for the future”. Stay safe tonight.
All right folks…here’s a proposal that doesn’t need the GA to decide. Get yourself prepared for winter, if you in any way can. The preparation involves $100-250 or so, but it’s all gear that really, you should probably have on hand just in case anyway. Expecting a committee to solve the issue of winterization for everyone, and not acting for yourself out of this sense of waiting, is really not a good idea, and it very well may cost you your health. 0 degree sleeping bag or better, thermals, mickey boots (cold weather military boots), wool socks/hat, and a nice jacket are pretty much essentials if you’re aiming for any kind of comfort. You CAN survive on less…but the point isn’t bare survival (after all, most of y’all can go back home…), the point is being comfortable enough to stay willing to put in the work and time that this requires.
Anyway, if y’all think I’m speaking like a know it all here, it’s simply because I spent a winter living outside, and am pointing out the specific items of gear that I had that most people didn’t, and are why I was often the only homeless person to be found in Harvard Square for hours at a time, as people rushed for the trains, libraries, coffee shops, etc. With the right gear, winter doesn’t have to suck at all. Without the right gear, it’s pretty hard for it not to…
Oh, and for y’all that are angrily going “but I can’t afford all that stuff”, well, I feel you. I wound up without some of that gear when I was outside, and couldn’t afford to replace it. Hopefully the group winterization methods will come together, or you can find a way to put together enough to get the gear you need.
I don’t know how to get a topic on the agenda for the GA.
I had purchased $180 worth of bumper stickers. They were very popular and I would like to purchase more, but can not purchase more out of pocket. I need $220 to buy 200 bumper stickers. We can request $2 donation per bumper sticker.
Thanks,Elana
