The following proposal was consented to by Occupy Boston’s General Assembly (GA) last night:
For both security and political reasons, the Occupy Boston Information Technology (OBIT) Working Group proposes that all working groups move off of Google Groups and onto mailing lists hosted by May First/People Link. In addition, and for the same reasons, we propose using our own domain—occupyboston.org—for working-group email addresses. This transfer should occur by November 1, with training and support supplied by OBIT.

Great video. I loved it! Chris Hedges is a very thoughtful speaker. He speaks from the heart with great insight!
Yes. A great video.
Now, as for my suggestion for GA: An Introduction to Communism.
Wow, you guys is just like them protests in the middle easts
In my opinion, the most impressive thing about Occupy Boston is the smell.
It’s not that impressive.
I have spent a little time cleaning up all around and there are not too many bad smells. It did get horrible for a day or two after Monday October 10 because they removed some waterproof ground covering exposing waterlogged soil that had been in an anaerobic condition. But that went away quickly. Now they put hay down everywhere so it sometimes smells sort of like a horse barn but in a good way. And I brought some really good incense that is in the Faith and Spirituality tent that you can use if you like.
Well, what a coincidence, ‘I live in Boston!’ So do I.
The smell, of which you speak, is/has been caused by the rainfall, moisture entrapment, etc., which is explained a little bit in Losifcrumb’s post below.
That being said, how do you feel about the stench of political bribery in the halls of our (?) US Congress? How about the odious collusion of our government and the banking/financial
services industry? How do you feel about the vile odor of corruption that is now endemic in our political process?
Do you like the smell of the lobbyists who toil relentlessly in Washington, D. C.- all the while oozing their stench of ‘influence’ all over our society and the congress/government that is supposed to uphold a just society which benefits ALL the people? Tell me, how does that smell resonate with you?
I voiced opposition to this proposal when it was first brought up on Saturday, and I’m still opposed to it. I understand that I should’ve been at assembly on Monday if I wanted to influence the outcome, so I guess now I just need to find the IT people and tell them my issues face-to-face.
