   Unfortunately, the REALITY that We, the People, find ourselves dwelling in is a system of government where our Congress is nothing more than a wholly-owned subsidiary of Wall St and the large, multi-national corporations. The FOR SALE sign hanging around the necks of our so-called ‘legislators’ and also to be found perched atop the Capitol Building in DC is visible to all people – finally. {The same goes for the Judicial branch of government. The recent Supreme Court decision in Citizens United v. Federal Elections Commission, confirmed their “bought and paid for” status.} That would include people across the entire political spectrum – left, center, and right. This fact alone will be increasingly distressful to the powers-that-be since they operate under the idea of ‘divide and conquer.’ Keep the common folks divided and unaware of their mutual interests. Well, that REALITY, Harold, is about to be challenged and discarded. There are more of us than there are of you and your ilk.

        I hate to say it…but I agree with whorefinder (seriously, though, that’s your name?). When we start deciding as a group what speech is “fair” and deserves to be heard and what isn’t, we’re moving towards all of the downsides of socialism/collectivism.

        Don’t get me wrong, I agree with a lot of socialist ideas and support the community we’re building at Occupy Boston, but I think an organized boycott of a media that we don’t like is a terrible idea. If you don’t like it, don’t listen to it; but we shouldn’t make censorship part of the movement in any shape or form.

    This is going to be an interesting few months.

    I have found that talking to the people themselves helps more than listening to ANY media outlet (right or left).

    I would love to see the tea party people organize a meeting with the occupy people. It would be nice to see them discuss their similarities and differences, instead of taking cheap shots at one another in hate filled blogs or news stories. I’m sure, or at least, I hope. people on both sides want to bridge the gap, and try to get things done together. Take it or leave it, but is going to be hard (not impossible) for OWS to change anything, without becoming more tea party like, in terms of structure.

      The Tea Party has only one thing in common with the whiny parasites smelling up the cities: dislike of wall street bailouts.

      The Tea Party, however, cleans up after itself, doesn’t promote violence, or blame Jews for a conspiracy. Unlike the leeches here.

      The leeches think that the way to fight a bad government policy s to INCREASE THE SIZE AND POWER OF THE GOVERNMENT.

      With that kind of violent, brainless brain trust, the Tea Party has nothing to say to these protesters, because the latter are too dumb to understand anything. Well, one thing: “Get off my lawn!”

        A lot of people out their just felt as if their vote/voice did not matter to the people in Washington. Now regardless of all the left vs right, big vs small government, rich vs poor issues, I personally don’t want corporations or unions running the political scene. I think the votes of you and me matter as much as the next guy.

        The main issue is that the people (from both sides of the fence) are speaking and Washington is not listening.

      That’s a great idea! Occupy Boston has been welcoming towards a variety of speakers and groups we’re in philosophical agreement with, and (as I understand it) has done outreach towards different communities. Why not invite a speaker or representative from a local Tea Party or libertarian organization, as well? We may not agree on tactics, policy, or a LOT of other issues, but maybe we can find some common ground, anyway.
