I met 3 of these youngsters, very nice students that had some pretty good questions.
When I think about how all of this means to the future, to include these students and all of the young people in the country, I know why I am out doing what needs to be done to ensure the citizens have a better chance to move forward in a nation that has a level playing field.
The Occupy movement is not really a “protest” of a specific situation, it is a catalyst for change on a number of problems this nation faces, and I’m proud and honored to be a part of this.
Peace,
Bob
Can a web admin please make note on here of the youth agenda adopted on Friday night at GA’s beginning? It was really powerful to see young people of color come out and make a few asks that Occupy prioritize issues facing our young folks in the communities of Dorchester, Roxbury, Jamaica Plain, Hyde Park, Mattapan, and too many others to name. Occupy should welcome with open arms a group of young engaged citizens who seek change in the way this world is ordered.
Oh man, talk about a great teacher!!!!! Keep up the good work!
Congratulations to thosoe teachers! That is a perfect example of bringing the real environment and the legacy of US culture together.
I Brought my son and daughter (4th and 7th graders because I thought this was the most important ‘lesson’ they may take away from 2011. After meeting and marching with all the kind hearted committed protesters both living on and off the site. I just want to say to other parents that If you can spare some of your time during the week. PLEASE come down and pull the kids out for a day. The understanding and the philosophical gain my children acquired as a result of their participation was amazing. You won’t regret it and the scene is safe and kid friendly. You won’t regret your family having participated.
