Day 4 of the occupation was a success: a huge march to the statehouse and back, intense attention from the media—both alternative and mainstream, across print, radio, TV, and the web—and a chance to interact with100,000+ Dewey Square passers-by on this gray, somewhat rainy Monday.
Here’s the schedule for October 4 (Day 5):
- 10:30 am – Morning General Assembly
- 3:00 pm – Hot meal
- 5:00 pm – Facilitator/AG meeting
- 5:50 pm – Working group check-in
- 7:00 pm – Evening General assembly
We’re in need of the following things:
- Tables
- Blankets
- Tarps
- Small padlocks
- Sleeping bags (it’s getting pretty cold out here!)
- Plywood (for the walkways)
- Medical or surgical masks (for sick folks)
That’s all for now. Come down if you haven’t; come back if you have. Sleep well, Boston.

Heroes, this is not an national matter it is a global matter. We need to really change our economic system in a way in a really really profund way. I´m your biggest fan and soon an activist here in Sweden. We start at the 15:th
Thank you Henrik! Yes, we are treating this as a global issue. Solidarity!

What’s the best way to get food donations to you? I’d love to help and have a large bag of dicks I can spare for you to eat.
We have a meditation space where you can learn to dissolve your anger. Maybe even find some inner peace. Visit any time, we’re not going anywhere.
Is there time scheduled for at-length discussion of issues/paths/demands/message? Perhaps in small break out circles? Or an in-service training day on issues?
Here are some groups that could do topic trainings:

Another idea would be to schedule an “information fair” day and invite the hundreds of advocacy organization in Boston to send folks down to chat. You ARE all leading, whether you like it or not, what you say is very important. THINK BIG. THINK CONCRETE. THINK LEGISLATION.

A gentleman name Dylan Ratigan is working on something with a ‘team’ regarding a constitutional amendment that will effect the change necessary. Here he is at OWS.

it should be “.html” not “.htm”
whats the best physical address to drop off donations like sleeping bags? I’d like to swing by and give you some stuff! could you please post a clear donations address on the home page?
Hi Dave,
Thanks for thinking about donating. Go to Dewey Square in front of South Station and ask at the information desk right at the front entrance where to drop things off. Here is a google map link to Dewey Square http://g.co/maps/p736e
I hope and believe that this is the real deal. I’ll be stopping by tomorrow to share some of my time and stock you up with what I can. Stay strong! You know that what you are doing matters. To paraphrase Jonathan Swift, don’t let the ‘Confederacy of Dunces’ discourage you!
“When a true genius appears, you can know him by this sign: that all of the dunces are in a confederacy against him.” Jonathan Swift 1711
wellll done. Keep going.
OCCUPY BOSTON, …..
God speed to all of you out there. We are getting bigger by the day and our voices are heard, somewhat. Let’s all gather together and show the world how we can be one.
@occupycambrige, sorry for the broken link. Here is the video of Dylan Ratigan addressing OWS (2 parts). He (and a dedicated team) are working on a constitutional amendment to take money out of politics. This is his web site for the signatures. Please feel free to get the word out. This will be the most important method of taking our country back and should be a focal point.

I would like everyone to also take a moment to go to The Daily Bail. The webmaster has for 3 years worked tirelessly exposing the financial end of all this corruption. Please feel free to search their archives for articles regarding student loan frauds, mortgage fraud and anything else you can think of.

Stay focused and keep on keeping on.
I will be down with supplies as soon as I can. I admire you, encourage you, and support you all!
Peace.
I’ll be dropping off blankets, warm jackets & ice/ice packs around 6.30 via car. Where should I meet you to do this?
Is there a way to donate funds specifically to support OccupyBeantown/Boston? So far, I’ve only been given donation site for the New York General Assembly. I lived in MA until 1978, and am now in NM. I want to support occupation in both states at that level. BTW, Albuquerque was occupied last weekend, and Santa Fe is starting up. Both cities have big plans for Saturday.
For your information, I have posted a string of pics in two threads on democraticunderground.com

Boston Globe, (boston.com) has reported that charges have been dropped against the individuals arrested on Friday at the BoA. 5 individuals with prior arrests will have a $50 fine assessed, the others will face no penalties.
I will be down as often as I can. Things are looking great, people are listening after finally waking up from an ugly nightmare.
Thanks, guys. So glad you are out there. Please post days and times you are trying to gather a larger rally.
Can i make a suggestion as far as needs goes, i think the city has been very good so far, can we all call city hall and ask for some portapotty, we can jam the phone. if they dont reply.
My idea is for those of us either working or unable to sit in at this time. I know people want to help. I live close to Boston, and was thinking that we could each, either as families, or as individuals “adopt” a person or persons to support. We could use a Facebook page or blog (I am happy to help with this) where we can match people up. I, for instance would be happy to support one person as a way of being there, without being able to camp out at this time. I could drop off what this person needs on a daily basis as parking is difficult down there. I’m coming from the North, so I’m happy to pick up supplies for anyone else interested in my idea. I may get bombarded with hate mail in response to this as this blog seems to be full of a lot of nasty stuff, but I want to help. I guess my idea, in a nutshell..is to adopt a person protesting as a way to also protest. By adopting, I mean this: find out if there are specific needs (especially as the cold air moves in) is someone needing cough syrup? clothes to be washed? Maybe some chicken soup for dinner? Just a thought.
